Long story short, something has gone wrong with an MSI which was deployed via a GPO. On some PCs it has installed fine, on others it has installed, but not fully. Using the traditional 'Redeploy' option does not work, nor does removing the GPO assignment and then recreating it.
What I am trying to establish is where exactly within Windows does it flag the fact that the software has already been assigned ?
My theory is that by removing the flag Windows will attempt to reinstall the software again.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Good question. Try this:
http://www.appdeploy.com/messageboa...Don't know if it'll help you, but it's the closest I could get to a solution. I've searched, but I can't find an answer to where that 'flag' is located. I don't think it works like that either... not sure though.
If the above doesn't help, use an MSI uninstall first, then install again and see if it works.

HI Phatsta, sorry for the delay in relying.
thanks for the link, it's provided some very useful information.
I've gotten around the problem now by using the MS supplied MSI unimstaller, and using the command line tool within that. It's a bit of a bodge job, but it seems to do the trick!
thanks again for your help
