Respected sir,

I need ur help for restricting my users that that they can not move or delete files from the network drive.

Scenario is.... i have a lab that has 20 PCs that and one server.... it is a client-domain relation.... all users uses a single user "Junior" (on domain) to log on their system. I also gv them a network drive to store their MSword files in server. Their profile is also their on server.

I need that user 'Junior' can create, write, modify files but they would not be able to move their files from one folder to another in network drive and similarly on the other hand must not b able to delete any of the file....

Summar:

User can only read, write, modify files but not move or delete it.... Is their any way to do that....??

Is this possible from group policy, or from user rights.... or by means of blocking the background processes for 'delete' or 'moving' the file.....e.g just block them to work for the user Junior....!

I search it on google but not found according to the requirement.
Plz help me ......

Thanks in advance!
Any help would be in fvr of me....

If the user has Modify, then they can copy, move, and delete. You can't prevent them from doing that unless you restrict their permissions.

Users need to be responsible for their own data. Make sure they understand that if they delete the data, it's gone. (Unless you have Shadow Copy or another backup process.)
