When I setup a new user in AD Windows 2003 I get an error when trying to create the users home folder stating: "The home folder was not created because you do not have create access on the server. The user account has been updated with the new home folder value but you must create the directory manually after obtaining the required access rights." I create the folder manually setup the share and permissions, but I still get the same error when I attempt to create the home folders through AD. After manually setting up the folder and logging on as the user, the folder gets mapped but trying to copy anything to the folder generates an ACCESS DENIED error. It appears to be a permissions problem, but I'm logged on as the administrator when creating the folder. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the administrator account have full control over all AD objects? Help would be very appreciated, David

Hi David. I have the fix, you need to give appropiate permissions to the Share. Remember permissions are accumative so even if you have full control (NTFS permission), the highest share permission set as default is Read. Change Read to Full Control.
