Home Directory Delays

I have recently joined a domain. I have a Server 2003 box that is a member of the domain sharing all of my home directories. All of my users can connect to their home directories without any problem, however, if they do not access the directory for a few minutes there is a 10-20 second delay when they do try to access it. I would like to know if there is a way to minimize this delay. I am not exactly sure what is causing it. I think basically what is happening is that the connection times out and the server needs to reauthenticate the user, but I am not sure. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

I've seen this when a mapped drive is mapped in error or is no longer available. The delay comes in trying to find that drives, eventually it fails and then the rest of the list shows. You don't have a logon script matching a bogus drive by any chance do you?
