Comment:
I just set up a Win2003 server standard addition and installed application server, DNS server and Domain name controller. I want to use it as our web server, so I activate the IIS 6.0 service. However, when I type the web site name on URL, it can not find it, but if I put IP address on it, it will show up the web page. What I have done is that I go to IIS manager-->local computer-->websites--->our site---> property, under property, i put web site name under websit identification: Description: the name of our website like www....., and ip address: our ip address.

You can refer to the IIS procedure call in a couple of ways.
1- you can type 127.0.0.1 into the web address bar 2- type http://localhost into the web address 3- or edit your host.dat(netbios file) file and tell it that www.whatever.com is your ip address
