help me PLZ. with AD and DNS

hello i am having a huge issue and i donno what to do. i can't seem to get this right i need someone to tell me and i should have in my TCP/IP settings and and what not also when i install AD and then let it configure my DNS for me, and after i am done with all that i goto nslookup and i get a non-existent: domain or somthing like that i need some help plz i am using the main IP for the machine being 192.168.0.1 i need to know what to do with it since i can't find anything anywhere on the net on how to install AD and DNS and TCP/IP stuff correctly. so plz help me PLZ PLZ

You should setup TCP/IP first and make it work. Can you ping other computer? and can other computer ping the server? or post the result of ipconfig /all. or you can go to http://www.ChicagoTech.net >do-it-yourself tools to do the troubleshooting.
