Comment: Hi I'm new to Windows Server 2003 and I decided to make a group policy. Well I created one for an OU and when the users login to there computer the policy DOESN'T work. So I made sure the computers were also in the OU. It still doesnt work. The only way the group policy works is if that particular user logs on to to the server it's self. What am I doing wrong here? Why won't it work when users login on there own pc's? Any help would be appreciated

Reply: (edit)Where did you apply the GPO at? there are some GPO's that only work on the domain and OU levels, like password changes, those GPO's only work on the domain level.. etc.

Reply: (edit)Group policy does not take effect immediately when you create it. You have to type a command to refresh group policy or reboot the server for the change to take place. Type gpupdate at the Run command to refresh the policy immediately.
