Hey Guys,

I have a noob question

Im trying to run a remote gpupdate on a single machine in the domain.
The machine name is ma-ws208

Can you please check if my syntax is correct?

gpupdate /target:ma-ws208 /force

whenever i type this into cmd a syntax summary appears that looks similar to the Help and the command is not actioned.

Can you please help me?

You cannot use GPUPDATE to remotely update group policy on a computer. The /target is to identify the TYPE of policy you want updated on the local computer - the Computer policy or the User Policy.

thanks guys.
psexec.exe is the tool to use for remote update.

I also realised if you make changes on the local DC then you wont need to force the updates.
just reboot the machine
