Comment:

I have 2 servers, and only set 1 domain controller to hold the global catalog, and then the server holding it crashed. Would this be a major thing?
I thought Global catalogs function more for connecting multi-domains, right? Could I somehow create a new global catalog for my single domain?

Just set the other as a global catalogue server in AD Sites and Services, and it will rebuild.

A global catalog is necessary to login, period. That is how Active Directory works, regardless if you have 1 domain or 100. Both of your servers should be GC's.

It is also what Exchange uses for directory look ups.

Thanks!
I checked GC under NTDS settings and it rebuilt. Life is good again. Yeah I thought I had both domain controllers as GC's, but I was way off.
Thanks again
