Hi,

I was running Windows 2003 server with a geforce MX 400 video card, no problems so far, but now my new server system comes with a Geforce FX 5200 videocard. The problem is that there aren't any drivers working with server 2003 for this videocard. Directx is installed correct, same as hardware acceleration.

The system just hangs or gives uncorrect views.

PLease help me...Any ideas?
Please let me know via e-mail.
Thnx.

You will have to take it back or contact the maker of the adapter card I would think. If it is a new server and supposed to be supported by the maker to run 2003 then make them fix it.

Dunno anyway around that. You can try older drivers for xp or 2000 and it might work with or without other problems?

dunno.

Have you tryed using the Xp drivers from nvidia's site?

Have you enabled DirectDraw and Direct3D acceleration? If not goto start/run and enter dxdiag. Click the display tab and enable them.

Hi,

Thnx for the help, but nothing worked.
I already returned the videocard to the shop and I got a new one. Unfortunately this gave the same problem.

I also tested the card in a Windows XP workstation with different kind of Drivers Nvidia, Omega, (also different versions of these) but none of these worked. The card gave me a normal desktop and even programs run normaly but when I test it with 3dmark2001 it fails at the car racing scnene. I also tried to play Halo:Combat Evolved that Windows XP machine, this also didn't work.

My BIOS setting are okay. Same as for Directx 9b (on both systems)

The Xp system has the following information:

P3 800mhz
Asus CUV4X motherboard
768 mb RAM
3 SCSI drives of 17 gig

PS.:
I also tried everything with the Geforce MX 400, that one worked fine!...So, what wrong with the Geforce fx 5200 ???? PLease help me. Thnx in advance

The problem may be with any or all of a few things. The original drivers or parts of left in. The board. The board drivers.
If you really insist then do a clean install with the new card. You might still have to do things like first pick a generic vga adapter and then later install the new drivers.

Well... I have almost the same problem you have! The diference is that I use the XP Operating system. I also have the asus CUV4X motherboard, a P3 650 and 384Mb. I Formated my Hard disc, updated all kind of drivers of matherboard and grafics card, and the problem is still there... some 3d aplications hang up with the error message "microsoft visual c++ library runtime error", other ones run with huge visual errors! From my understanding of the problem, the sourse of it is the motherboard that somehow doesn´t suport this kind of AGP 4x bus transfer. But I may be wrong! If you know something, please let me know... Good luck....

Same problem over here! :-(

I installed Fx5200 and office applications are working fine, but when I try games->help!

Or they freeze, and now strange things happen with the graphics. A lot red colour, strange lines etc.

Maybe it does not support P3 systems???
