ftp upload weekness

hi, mi ftp is up and running ok, but i'm not happy with the upload speed which is 12 kbps. no mather were u are in the world the speed will be always 12 kbps. my ISP give me a service of 3.0 kbps download speed, and 800 kbps upload speed. can you guys please help me out here. this server what i have is dedicated just for FTP. i'm using w2k3 stADndard edition. I need to know how can I improve the ftp upload speed from 12 kbps to a higher posible realistic speed. thanks a lot . i really need a hand here!

You sound a bit confused. It is highly unlikely that your isp gives you a higher upload speed than download speed. Maybe you meant to say 3.0Mbps download, 800Kbps upload? I'll assume that's true, for the rest of my reply.
If your upload speed is 800Kbps (800 kilobits per second), this translates roughly to about 10 KBps (kilobytes per second). So, the upload speed you're getting is the limit of the upload speed your ISP has provided. There is nothing you can do to increase this speed, other than paying your ISP for more bandwidth.

I have encounted the same problem too. I am wondering that anyone can help me solve this issue. For Rechard you upload speed should be 100KB/s not 10KB/s. calculating method is divided by 8 of whatever you bits is. 1 byte = 8 bits Good lucj
