Hello,
I have installed a ftp server in windows 2003. I have a fixed IP address. The ftp server only works in my intranet. When I try to connect to the fixed IP through Internet, its fails....
Can someone help me, please!!!!
Thanks

How is your network configured??
Do you have a router connecting your computers?
You dont give a lot of info, but from first thoughts if you have a router set it to forward all requests for port 21 to the to the IP address of the server!!Regards
Rich

Sorry ( my English is not good ),
I try to explain my problem...
I have a network ( 8 PC's & 1 Server ).
I have a 3COM 812 ADSL Router
The router have the 21 and 80 ports opened.
The router have an internal IP ( 192.X.X.X ) and a static IP ( 213.X.X.X )I haved a good configuration of IIS in windows NT, but now I change to windows 2003 Server.
Now I have the problem ...
I have installed the IIS and I do not have problems when I connect to the ftp through internal network :
ftp 192.X.X.X
I introduce the username and password and it works perfectly. When I try :
ftp 213.X.X.X
I have an error like I don't have permission to access at this folder...All the PC's can use Internet but the FTP don't works ...
I hope any answer ...
Thanks !!!!

Thanks for the info.
Do you use a firwall, like ISA server? If so, you might whant to check the ftp rules see if it allows from external IP.
Also, in IIS admin, in the properties of the ftp site, are you allowing access from the external IP. Must be somewhere there, as you have proved from the LAN.
