Hi all.
I have an ftp server on my local server, i wanted to access another local dir with ftp so i have created another anonymous ftp server on port 2500, on fat 32 root directory.
I port forward 2500 to my server 2003 internal ip.When i try to log in on a the local machine or from a neighbouring unix machine i'm able to login to ftp port 2500, no sweat.
But when i try to log in from remote place (like work) i'm unable to.I have checked it with a unix ftp comand that lets me use a different port, and discovered i CAN log in.
But once i try to ls, cd or get i get #500 error. Is there other ports i must forward ? what can be blocking the transmission ?
don't underestimatre the stupidity of a user...

Is anything else using port 2500? I know that Symantec's server based anti-virus (long shot) uses that port... maybe something else is simply conflicting that way?
Are you trying to connect from the outside on port 2500 or 21? Does your router map 21 to 2500? it sounds like your router is the issue... check ACLs and port mappings
