I have Server A and new Server B. I have a file server on Server A (which is failing) and would like to automatically foward all of the users from Server A to their folder (which functions as a mapped network drive) on Server B. I do not want to change where each user's account points to, because I will rename Server B to Server A.

So my question is, when each user tries to access their mapped network drive, how can I automatically point them (or forward them) to the folder on the new server?

You have two options

1. rewrite the logon script to correctly map the drives

2. engage DFS so you can alias the shares for the drive mapping. afterward you can change the dfs pointer without having to updata all the drive mapping scripts

Imagine the power of knowing how to internet search
