Filesystem / Diskeeper Error

Hi Everyone,
While Diskeeper was doing a fragmentation scan of my system it wrote this critical error to my Application Event Log:
Diskeeper Engine - Unable to obtain extent list GUID {f1812765-ab9a-11da-afeb-00142214fe77} Volume Letter: E: Volume Label: Data File FRN = 211162
Does anyone know what an extent list refers to? Has anyone else encountered this? I'm worried it may indicate a disk error.

Did Diskeeper crash as a result of this error? Did you Google the error?

It did not crash, it just logged that error.
I did google the error code but only found one person with the issue who suggests this:
"This indicates there is a disk error, most likely in the free space, which “chkdsk /F” cannot find. “Run chkdsk /R” on the problem partition. That should correct the error. Run “chkdsk /R” on every partitions at least once a month."
I don't think I can run chkdsk on a live server without shutting down (unless I'm wrong), and I'm weary of running it in the first place without knowing for sure that is indicates a real problem

Is anyone able to explain to me what a file extent list is exactly?
