Some of my colleagues knows a little more than the average user, but not enough to anticipate the consequence of their actions. One day, a colleague thinks the outlook express is too slow, due to large amount of emails. So, he tries to find the email files folder in the Option and DELETE every file in that folder. Then he realizes he just deleted ALL of his emails and come to me for help.
How do I setup the user's right to prevent this kind of event ever happen again? Or the GP has setting for this kind of protection?
Hello!

If he is using Outlook Express then it can only be a POP3/IMAP mailbox he has access too. If you can change the protocol to IMAP (providing the server supports this) of which the user has no access too. Legacy protocols like POP3 will download the email (offline) to the PC itself. That has to be managed by the users email client and the user themselves. I wouldnt bother modifying access controls on those folders or files as it could cause more problems than its worth with the email client. POP3 is simply not a manageable nor server based solution.

I've tried Gmail's IMAP and the result seems very promising.
However, this IMAP/Outlook Express configuration brings out another question: How can a user actually delete the email they don't need? I only see a mark marking the deleted message in Outlook Express, but I still can see the deleted email in the Gmail webpage.
Hello!
