I have a old 2000 server with exchange server 2000. The exchange server was crashed. Users' outlook can't open. I stopped the exchange server now. Someone told me to mount store for mailbox, but failed to mount. I saw the following error messages from the event view:

MSExchangeSA
Error: 9175

"The MAPI call 'OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error:
The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available. Either there are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server computer is down for maintenance.
The MAPI provider failed.
Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
ID no: 8004011d-0526-00000000

MSExchangeFBPublish
Error: 8197

"Error initializing session for virtual machine. The error number is 0x8004011d. Make sure Microsoft Exchange Store is running.

Please help me to fix this major problem and users need to use outlook daily.

Thank you very much.

What are you supposed to do according to your disaster recovery plan? Replacement hardware? Restore from backup?

You can't mount the db if the Information Store Service isn't running. Is this service running? If not, start it, and make sure the System Attendent is started first as Store is dependent on SA.

I did try to mount the mailbox when the exchange server is started, but failed.

The problem is the users cannot get all email because they can't logon the the exchange server. I really want to know how to fix this exchange server problem and make the server up again. thanks.

Reread my post. I can't help you if you can't check those services.
