Exchange mailbox location, creation

When I create a new user with an Exchange 2003 mailbox, the mailbox is being created on an older Exchange 2003 server that we are getting ready to replace instead of the newer Exchange 2003 server. Both servers are currently on the same network in the same domain. I've completed these steps for decommisioning the first, original Exchange server before uninstalling it so that the newer one can take over: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931 However, as I said, I noticed that new accounts created are still defaulting the mailbox to the older server instead of the newer one. Will this issue resolve itself once I uninstall Exchange from the old server? (Yes, I tried creating the account on the new server first...) Thanks.

Yes, it should.

Confirmed, that is what occured. That's what I figured would happen, but better safe than sorry as they say and didn't think it would hurt to ask. For other peoples' benefit who may read this article, this also worked with both servers being domain controllers. (No, Exchange on domain controllers is not ideal, but we don't have limitless resources.) Thanks again...
