My current setup is:
Exchange 5.5 running on NT4.0 sp6a BDC
All Data is on the NT4.0 sp6a PDC.

All needs to go on the 2003 Server and Exchnage 2003 is on the same box!

All I am trying to do is move/Export! my information store (Exchange 5.5) mailboxes off my NT4.0 BDC to a new W2003 server with Exchange 2003 already installed.

I cannot interupt the Exch 5.5 production server for too long!
I need to keep a contingency to rollback if required.

Can I get the SAM database across?
Can get E5.5 exported to E2003? maybe using Exmerge?

Advice is very welcome?

John

Just did the exact same thing 3 months ago, so yes you can use the exmerge for exchange 5.5 to export the exchange 5.5 information/files

Then use exmerge for 2003 which i found out is a different file to import the information onto your new 2003 exchange.

We have 30 users and it took roughly 45 minutes to exmerge our 5.5 information.

Thanx for the info.
I used the Migrate wizard on the 2003 box which works fine. Came up with some errors but all the mailboxes imported ok and all the mail.
I even got my user accounts but it didn't for some reason set the passwords as I asked :(
This might have been a big problem on a big Network!

The ennoying thing is it doesn't import the public folders.
You need pfmigrate to do this.
It's a command line tool and it looks like it might not work for me as this 2003 server is a fresh stand-alone install and not part of the origanal Network!! i.e the previous NT Servers!
