Hi,
I am running exchange 2003 on Windows server 2003 mail server.
Can I have another mail server with the same configuration as a backup for the existing mail server?
Do both Exchange2003 synchronise themselves through the network?
Does the backup mail server take over in case the first one is crashed?

many thanks

What you want sounds like an Exchange cluster utilizing Clustering Services.

Take a look at the section on clustering in the Exchange Deployment Guide, which is available for free at Microsoft's website.

Make sure you use two NIC's in each, and do Active/Passive clustering. Active/Active SUCKS!
