Comment:

Having a strange issue with my Exchange 2003 server. Lets say my primary domain address is JDoe@domainA.com. There is also a receipient policy for @domainB.com in Exchange System Administrator, but under my domain account the JDoe@domainB.com address was once there but was deleted a long time ago. However, when I try to recreate the alias under my user account for JDoe@domainB.com, it says that email address already exists in the directory.
Under "Message Tracking" in the Exchange System Administrator, it says JDoe@domainB.com is being delivered to JDoe2@domainA.com, but it doesn't give me the AD user account that it's attached too.
I've tried using the AD search function to look for JDoe2 and fine tuning it to look for the email addresses JDoe2@domainA.com and JDoe@domainB.com, but it can't find either one(but it can find my legitimate JDoe@domainA.com address).
I think it's a phantom entry that's stuck in the Information Store or somewhere in AD. I've searched the net and M$ but can't find any information on it. Anyone have any ideas where else to look?
Thanks.

Use Exchange System Manager and see if there's a mailbox that could possibly be causing an issue.

You could also issue a Rebuild command to the RUS.

I checked System Manager under mailboxs and didn't find anything about it. I saw the RUS rebuild option, but I was concerned about it because I didn't know if it would apply the @domainB.com address to all account, which I don't want it to do. But I'll give it a try after I read a little about it. Spanks.

I ran the RUS rebuild and update, didn't solve the problem. Will have to research further unless anyone has any other ideas.
Thanks

Worth a shot, I'll give it a try as soon as I can. Thanks, Hero.
