I work for GFI as a support technician. I have an issue that I am hoping you guys can help me with. I have a customer that is getting an NDR generated on Exchange 2003 (internal email) and I need help trying to find out what account is generating it. Here is whats going on.
The customer has our Fax software (FaxMAker) loaded on a seperate machine. When we send a confirmation report (I think this is just for one account b/c some users are getting thier faxes) via smtp Exchange is generating an NDR. When exchange sends that NDR from postmaster back to the Faxserver, our software tries to authenticate the postmaster as an authorized user, which fails, hence we send an email back to postmaster saying the user is invalid. This continues to loop and eventually causes our Fax services to crash. I have looked at smtp logs and have not found antthing that would help me identify the problematic account.
I wondering if there are some diagnostics on exchange or possible some logging that I can turn on to try to help me indentify the account causing this.
