Enough for streaming media?

Comment:
Will a Pentium Pro 200 Mhz with 512 MB ram be enough for Windows Media streaming. It also has 5 4GB SCSI hard disks with a RAID controller. M$ website says 266 Mhz, but they also said Win NT would run on a 486. Thanks

I think that there are some issues with the old P Pro's. Better check on that at the MS site.
Basically the answer would be no. You are asking alot from that old of a machine.

NT on a 486? lol, I'd like to see it.
I don't suffer from insanity, I embrace it.

I had to check on that. I thought we had some running at (biggie computer maker) a long time ago. Yep, NT must have been running on 486's. We still run 3.5x on some dual P Pro 200's for some near real time things. I just don't think 2003 can run on some older processors like the Pro's. MS limited that because of some design errors.
