Hi i was wondering is it possible to dualboot XP and windows 2003 enterprise?
can anyone pls help me.. thanksniel
XP will ask where you want to install it, just make sure you have a partition ready for it before you start (in other words, have 2 partitions, both about 5GB i'd say). Then install one O/S on each. Easy!
Good Luck,
Rob

Install xp first then 2003 on separate partitions.
Give a person a fish you feed them for a day.
Ask a person to internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

I agree with wanderer. Unless you plan on getting rid of XP and keeping 2003 as your desktop (not a great idea) I would load XP first. Then you can wipe 2003 later if/when you decide to and not have to reinstall your entire system from scratch.

first thanks for the fast replies...
i tried to install the windows2003 last night but it said that i cannot support an upgrade on my windows XP it suggested a fresh installation which im sure it will wipeout all my old XP system and also my sever2003 is not bootable... by the way is it ok to use windows 2003 as a desktop system?niel

this is because you launched the install from xp. Don't do that. Set your bios boot order to cd then hard drive. boot the 2003 cd this way and install will start.
its a server product but you can use it as a desktop. don't know why you would want to but you can.
if your cd isn't bootable..[asking for hacked software support here can get the board in trouble] you can always use a cdrom boot diskette [boot from a drive with cdrom support like a ME diskette]
Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.
