i have a Mustek 1200UB scanner, and it won't work with windows 2003. Since Mustek is not providing amy driver for windows 2003, i think i have to use drivers for windows 2000 or windows XP. but when i tried to install the driver, it says that the driver can only be installed in windows 2000/XP. How can i install the driver?

Have you just tried to plus the scanner in and see if windows sees it? Windows xp (pro) will see that scanner without the drivers

If it sees it as a usb device then you may be able to roll the driver back to windows 2k and install the software. Otherwise.. you will be waiting a very long long time to get a driver for that scanner.

Also try this.. This may be the root of your problem.
Windows Server 2003 incorporates a new service named Windows Image Acquisition(WIA). Since most servers are not equipped with scanners or cameras, the Windows Image Acquisition service is disabled by default to reduce system resources used by the operating system.

If you want to make your Imaging device work under Windows Server 2003 then you first need to enable the Windows Image Acquisition Service. To do so, go to Services (under Start/Programs/Administrative Tools) and find the Windows
Image Acquisition Service. Right click on it and go into its properties.
Change the Startup Type dropdown list value from disabled to automatic and reboot prior to installing your devices drivers and plugging it in

I have got the job done by hacking registry and installing a for-XP driver.
Thank you all the same.
