Hi guys, please can you help me with this VERY annoying problem. I am using VMWARE wrokstation and I'm trying to connect a virtual Windows 2003 Server Domain to a couple of XP Pro workstations. Every time I type the name of the address I get the 'A domain controller for the Domain nitlc could not be contacted' message. It is really frustrating because I can ping them OK and they all worked together in a Workgroup envronment.

I understand it may be a problem with the DNS server but I don't know much about this yet to be honest. I checked the DNS Server by running 'IPCONFIG'. Is that the correct DNS address? If someone could give me a step-by step guide I would be extremely grateful. I have spent 5-6 hours on this today already and I just can't take no more!

Many thanks for your help in advance,

Grant

What do you mean by "Connect?" Are you trying to add the workstations to the Domain? Or vice-versa? Can you be a little more specific?
