Hi,
I am having a strange problem with my domain account. I have a windows server 2003 and created a domain account "test" there. My laptop has two user accounts, one "test" and other "Admin". If login to my laptop with Admin and try to access domain with account 'test', it is working fine. But if login to my laptop with 'test' and try to access domain with 'test', my domain account 'test' is getting locked immediately. Please suggest how to fix this issue.

Shambhu.

So it actually shows as the account being locked under the user's profile?

Hi Jennifer,

does the test account on both your laptop and server use the same password?
have to used "test" on the server for a service?
What happens when you logon to the server using "test"?

Hi Wanderer,
Here is what i am trying to do. On Windows 2003 server (192.168.1.10), i have created a domain account "test" using active directory and i am using this server as a file server. And my laptop (192.168.1.20) has a user account "test". I am logging into my laptop (using "this computer"). Now i am trying to access files from my windows 2003 server by "\\192.168.1.10" from run, then i get msg that i don't have permission and when i check in my windows server there i find that my active directory account is locked.
Please let me know, if you need more info.Regards,
Shambhu.

Hi All,
While writing above reply, i realized what i am doing wrong. I was logging into "this computer" on my laptop instead of 'log on to' domain name. I logged on to domain using my domain account and password and i was able to access file without any issue.
Thanks everyone by asking more explanation and due to that, i found the resolution. :)Regards,
Shambhu.
