Reply:
add an entry in your LMHOSTS file... write a script to do it to add an entry in your clients file to point to your intranet site

add a host and ptr record to that effect into dns
Give a person a fish you feed them for a day. Ask a person to internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

im also in this very situation, only my domain is registered, people on the internet can view the web site www.website.com but on the lan the computer cant, i thought i had it worked out, i set the lan clients dns to my webserver's dns, and added a 2nd dns entry for www.website.com pointing to the lan ip. Yes this worked, but i noticed lag when accessing the site on the internet, and www.dnsstuff.com said the dns entry of my lan ip would confuse my mail server. so far editing LMHOSTS on my lan clients seems to be the only option, though i have an employee with a laptop that goes from lan to home. If anyone know a workaround that will keep my server operational inside the lan and on the internet, with lan clients behaving as they were on the internet, let me know.
