All started with the VPN's going down, that was the easyest problem. After 4
hours and Article ID : 840686 it was up again, but... (there's allways a but)
I went aon 4 day vacation...
In that time, some users lost access to some public shares DNS went crazy
and stop resolving names DHCP stoped address attribution to the allready
connected machines and it's the caos!!!
After a blank night messing with the services here is the actual poin of the
situation.
1) i'm migrating all SQL databases to a backup server...
2) Only new computers aquire DHCP leases.
3) Computer's that were allready connected to the domain mantain the old IP
address, even after I changed de DHCP range to other totally diferent.
4) Deleting user from AD does nothing. De still validates to the domain and
retrives is old IP. Amazing.
5) When reinstalling DNS I get a error message tha the hints record cannot
be updated.
6) The DNS server resolves to our ISP address, and there's at this moment no
forward anyware that i remenber. The Forward in hints properties is grayed.
7) There ois no erros on the DNS log
8) Netdiag only fails on...

It looks like your server is treating the ISP's DNS server (194.65.100.117) as the primary DNS server for your domain. This is bad. Here are some things to check:

Things to check in DNS server settings:

-Is there a primary zone for your domain (infordio.local) created on your DNS server?

-Is your ISP's DNS server entered as a forwarder?

-Are the root hint servers configured?

-While troubleshooting, turn on debug logging and event logging.

Things to check on the server in general:

-What do you get from running dcdiag? Any interesting errors?

-Have you or anyone else recently created or modified the server's security policy with the security configuration wizard?

I'm sure you have probably thought of some or all of this stuff already. Hopefully some of it will be helpful though :)
