I am trying to find out where an entry is in DNS
so that I can change it. The entry is
mail.acmeconsulting.com. Where do I go and
how do I change it?

Thank you,

If you have a dns server you would change it there in the forward lookup zone. You would change host and ptr records.

You can not change any public dns server entry

acmeconsulting.com does not appear to exist.

mail.acmeconsulting.com is not the actual name. I am asking
how would I search for it on my internal server.

Thank you,

so this is internal only? You are a bit cryptic in your posts, why?

load mmc and the dns module
forward lookup zone
look for host and mx records
