Hi,
When I click on the dial-in tab for a user in Active Directory, I get the following error message:
"Could not load the Dial-in profile for this user because: Either a required impersonation level was not provided, or the provided impersonation level is invalid."
I've not seen this one before, and it means I can't set Dial-in rights for users.
Any help would be appreciated! :)

Hi,
I got quite a few hits on groups.google.com on this including.

That link might be a work around but in Window 2003, the reason that tab doesn't exist is because dial in security is designed to be controlled via group policy or RAS policy settings. I'd look into that option if you want to configure it correctly.

Hi Peter and Glen,
Thanks for the link, :), however I tried the instructions on that page and I still get the same error message. It’s very odd as I haven't seen that particular message before.
I’ve used RAS for VPN (which is what im trying to achieve here) before, and I've always used the dial-in tab to set permissions in the past.
Ill look in RAS policy settings though, and see what I can find in there.
Thanks for the replies though guys!

I have just tried to access RAS which I haven’t done since first setting it up, I found another problem. When the RAS management console loads, it appears normal however when I click on the server, I get a small error box with 4112 in it. Then I can’t access any of the server settings at all.
I have remove RAS and Re-configured it, and I'm still getting the same problems. I have a feeling that the Dial-in tab and RAS not working are linked.Any additional help would be great!
Thanks!

Hi,
Yes, I am pretty sure they _are_ related. You completely removed RRAS and reinstalled it? Do it again and write down exactly what configuration changes you made - that's about all I think to suggest right now.
BTW, I also configure access with the dialin tab in AD (Windows 2000) - never had any issues with that.
Peter
