Every now and then my DHCP server would prompt this error message stating: DHCP service failed to see a directory server for authorization.
but upon testing, all workstations in our LAN were able to be assigned IP without any problems.
So what could be the cause to that error prompting?

AD clients will only lease IP's from DHCP servers authorized within Active Directory as a protection mechanism against rogue DHCP servers.
My guess is the DHCP server couldn't contact a domain controller. This could be due to bad connectivity, network saturation, DC being overloaded with work, or problems with your AD environment (maybe ghost DC's that require metadata cleanup, etc.).
