I want to setup a DHCP server on my home network . I have two win2k prof systems and a win2003 server ( i configured DHCP with proper scope settings) . can any tell me how to do the networking part so that the win2k systems can get a dynamic ip from the DHCP server.
also can u tell me the best router i need to buy for the above mentioned setup

Doesn't it your Router act as your DHCP? If you already have the Router, why are you want to setup a second dhcp server?

Most routers have a built in DHCP server , so no need to setup a DHCP server on your pcs (although it can be done by disabling the DHCP server on your router, then you could use it as a hub |switch | firewall)
If you want the win2k3 acting as a DHCP server you have to activate the scope settings you said you made and start the dhcp server set your win2k boxes to obtain an IP address automatically and hook them all up to a hub or to the router as described above.

I would add that the easiest configuration is to use a Linksys or D-Link router to handle your DHCP. Just in case windows crashes or you are infected by a virus your DHCP settings would no be affected. The scope in most home routers already has a 192.168.x.x scope available and all you have to do is enable it and set your PC's to obtain an IP address automatically.
