hello, im having a problem with trying to create a DHCP server. i have my server with two nic's and the one connecting the internet has a static ip. the one connecting to my LAN is suposed to assign ip addresses, but it dosnt. i have set up a scope.
when the nic that is supposed to connect to the LAN is connected, it serches for a ip address creating an automatic private address, how do i configure the server so it can be a DHCP server??
i know that ive asked a very broad and vague question. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, dows anyone know of tutorials or good internet articles that deal with this topic
thank you for any advice you may offer!!

Ok, you have the LAN nick set to get it's IP from DHCP. You need to statically assign an IP.
Using the Class C private subnet, here's how it should look.
Server, LAN NIC:
IP: 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0DHCP Scope:
192.168.0.10 to 192.168.0.100 (or whatever)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1To allow the server and clients to access the internet you will likely need to enable ICS on the server. More info on ICS in the Windows help files and on the web (a google search will return lots of links).
