Good morning-
I have a problem with DFS.
All DFS links are viewable, however Domain Users get a 'Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item' message when they try to execute an application or open a file/document.
I took the hint and reviewed NTFS and share permissions. I have share permissions set to Everyone [view] and NTFS permissions for Domain Users [Read & Execute] / System [FC] / Administrators [FC], etc. Everything seems to be correctly configured. I also checked the root folder's permissions and they seem to be fine as well.
Note: Administrators have no problem viewing/executing apps/files on DFS.
Could anyone please point me to the problem please? Thank you in advance.

yes. If for example a Domain User wishes to open file1 (located locally on PC-01) he may:
choose to use DFS and go [DFS Server]--> (root) --> Folder1-->file1
or
go to \\PC-01\Share\Folder\file1
i have shared files on Workstations hidden however, so users cannot view them unless they use DFS.
