CPU/Ram: Dual Xenon 2.66 2gig
Model/Manufacturer: PowerEdge 1800 Dell
Comment:

I am installing Server 2003 on a new PowerEdge 1800 and after I set the size of the Boot Partition Open Mange tells me that it is going to delete two small partitions that have Dell utilitiy(62MB /dev/sda1) and fat16(2047mb /dev/sda2 and asks if I want to continue.

It is a PowerEdge1800:
Dual Xenon 2.66 processors
2Gb RAM
RAID 1+0 with 4 250gb hdd
Cerc6 RAID controller card
456+gb of total space available

I do not want to delete these of course if they are part of the RAID Array configuration.

If anybody could offer advice it would be greatly appreciated.

I have always just installed from the Server 2003 disc one partition but this time I have the RAID and 456+Gb of total storage and will be doing some Server Virtualization once it is up and running.

Should I just install from the Server CD and partition later with a 3rd party application similar to Partition Magic???

Thank you!!!!!

Reply: (edit)

you have a PERC card for raid right?

if so those partitions dont really matter. one is the hardware testing tool (you can use it by pressing F10 or something during startup)
