Hi,
Having just set up a new domain, I decided to rename the DC. I used the properties options for My Computer and all seemed to go ahead without issue until after restarting (as prompted) I never get past the start up screen.
I have logged in using safe mode and I think the problem may relate to netlogon as this seems to be switched off and won't restart.
Does anyone know what I may have done wrong, or failing that how to start again?

Renaming a DC is not a simple process of simply renaming it in system properties. There are otehr factors to consider. Renaming a DC will also affect the entire forest including the clients within that domain if your DNS records are not correct. I dont believe this is a process supported by MS and its certainly not best practice. If i were you id rebuild the server or restore the system state from the last available backup.
