Posting here because Windows Home Server is built on Server 2003. I have a very curiouse problem with the 'Date Modified' that shows for new files/directories in Explorer.
The server is about 2 months old, built from the ground up. New files being saved to the server show a modified date (seemingly random) from January 2004.
The server time and date are right so why would Windows Explorer show such an odd date for the files?
Has anyone seen this before? Do you know of a way to fix this problem - maybe with a registry edit?
Thanks for the help,
Po

Your first step would be to check the time and regional settings on both the networked pcs and the server.
There is a old bug that still exists between the creation date and modified date. Sometimes the system reverses them. Seen this since NT so I don't expect it to go away any time soon.

Thanks for the reply. All PCs show the proper day and time. Is there a work-around for the bug you mentioned?
Checked the 'Date Created'. They all say 1/1/2004 - it's like Windows just decided that the day I set up the backups software was 1/1/2004. The modified dates on most of these files/directories have changed to 1/6, 1/13,1/27, 2/13 - in other words they are changing - they just were 'created' on the very wrong day so . . .
Better question is how do I update the 'Date Created'? Figure if I can do that all of the rest of the dates should get in line.
