I've been creating domain users from a predefined template on Windows 2000 servers for years, but can't make it work on SBS 2003. I have 4 of these servers and none of them works right.
I modify the existing "User Template" or create my own, and enter specifics, such as the name of the login script. I then create new users and tell it to use that template for the initial settings. It never works. The new user's login script is the default (SBS_LOGIN_SCRIPT.bat), not the one I entered in the user template. This goes for all the other detailed settings I put in the template.
I have tried this so many times on all four servers, and had another tech remote in to walk through it with me and make sure I'm not overlooking something simple. It just doesn't seem to work. Surely someone else here has run into this. It was a non-issue in 2000.
Any gotchas that I'm falling prey to?
Thanks,
JB
