Sir,
i would like to know "why my copied windows 2003 server CD is not running the "setup" when i choose option BOOT FROM CD ROM in bios although my original CD is running the same. For burning the windows 2003 server CD first i had explore the original CD and select all its files & folder and copy them to my hard disk, then for burning them into my CD iam using "Nero" and choosing DATA CD option for burning and then i select all those files and folders for burning which i had copied to my hard disk and burned them to CD.But now this BURNED CD is not running the "setup"(after choosing BOOT FROM CD OPTION in BIOS )but my original CD is running the setup in similar manner.I had also copied RED HAT's all CD in this manner & again they are also not running the "setup".But on boot with their original CD's are running well ,is there any thing wrong in the process of burning like the manner i have stated, although all burned CD on exploring showing all files and folder of original CDs.Plz guide me to get rid of the problem.

Best regards
Sunil.

sir,
now my question is that i had copied all files and folder as it is from original CD to HD and now iam not having the original CD with me,but all files and folder are dumped to my HD,so is it possible now to make bootable CD of windows 2003 from all these dumped files and folder?so that i can run the windows 2003"setup" from the CD when choosing "Boot from CD ROM" option in BIOS.

I donīt think so, īcose u need the boot files, that I believe werenīt copied to the hd.
But if u have these boot files, u can create a bootable cd from nero (or other) and define the boot files to be used to boot.
I think this should do.

Tell me if it has worked

Yes you can still use these files, first you need an image making app, like winiso, winimage or magiciso, and convert all these files back to an iso file, now using your cd copying app, I use easy cd-creator, use the option to create cd from image file, and it will work again, because it puts all the boot strap files where they are needed on the cd.

The problem is you did not copy all the files needed to boot, the boot files are not visiable on a default explorer browser.

AND just copying them will not work, as you have discovered. You need the org cd back to make a boot image from, or use a boot floppy or some other boot image. Your burning software will detail how to.

Too many different methods to go into detail here, search the web with google, lots of boot disk sites out there.

With winiso make an ISO image from an old XP
CD or w2k CD.
Open the ISO image with winsiso
Delete all files, after this the ISO seems
to be empty but it is not. It remains
bootable (look at botton-left, there is a
note "this cd is bootable")
Now copy all files from your win 2003 folder
into the "empty" xp ISO image and save the
modified ISO, Burn the CD

Or you may use google to search for a file
named xpboot.bin. This is the invisible but
necessary part to make a windows bootable
CD.
Use xpboot.bin with nero or winiso to make a
bootable CD.
