I've lost my admin password, so i've been reading that windows stores it in a SAM file. Does anyone know if you can copy the locked SAM file from within system32 folder. I dont have physical access to the server, but i've got access using Remote Desktop. The account i've got access to is only a limitied account.

there are easier ways to reset the password. one easy way being booting to a copy of erd commander which is designed for this (as will a linux boot disk).
