I have a 2k3 server that was freshly installed and I would like to set up vpn so I can have as few ports open to the internet as possible. I have gone through the routing and remote access firewall and enabled both of the vpn options over my nic that connects to the internet. I have gone into the ports settings and allowed incoming connections the both the vpn protocols as well.
That being said. I am at work and I am able to provide my credentials and connect to the vpn. This is what I get;
PPP adapter #####:
PPP adapter DagoWop:Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : ###
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : WAN (PPP/SLIP) Interface
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : #####
Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.64
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.64
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.2
As That stands I am able to ping my server at 192.168.1.1 for about 30 seconds and then it stops. Same with remote desktop. If I click connect to remote computer right after I connect to the vpn I get a grey screen and then it freezes. One more note the 192.168.0.2 is the ip of my wan nic and I have changed the dns server setting on the client to reflect that and still no luck. Any help/insight would be great. Thanks in advance
