Hi all!
I'm in trouble with configuring Two NICS in windows server 2003.
Let me explain about my problem.
In my network , i have 15 clients and one server.
My network want to use internet from one private ip address that gave from my ISP and i haven't a router but a switch.
So I have installed Windows Server 2003 and installed two NICs too.
when setting up NAT , how must i do for my two network cards?
I assigned first NIC (let it call WAN) to get access internet with the IP i got from ISP . and then what must i do next?
let me ask u some questions too?(1) Can I assign public ip such as 192.168.x.x in second NIC (LAN) ?
(2) If so , What Ip will be my default gate way in Second NIC (LAN)?
(3) If it is ok , what must i do next ?I'm just a fresher in Networking.
if anyone can explain me , i really appreciated.
Thanks all in advance.!!
Best Regards ,

You do realize that a SOHO router can be bought for under $50 (US/CDN) don't you?
If you're not familiar enough with 2003 to get dual NIC's and RRAS working on your network, perhaps the simpler solution (ie: SOHO router) is the best idea.
Remember your setup should look like this:
WAN >> Router >> Switch >> Clients

Q1. 192.x.x.x is private ip not public. Yes you can assign private ip on the lan side of your server.
Q2. you need to clarify what is lan and what is wan. You refer to both as lan. At the server there is only one gateway and that is the connection to the ISP ie. wan. No gateway on lan card. Wkstations gateway is the servers lan card.
Q3. Web search RRAS and 2003 DNS server configuration. Too much info just to post here.
Make your life easy and do as CurtR suggests.
Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

Really thanks to CurtR and Wanderer!
now i m ok . :)
But for RRAS let me ask u some questions!
pls give me a favour.
How difference between RRAS and ICS ?
i m confusing about that.
Hoping to see good answers again!Regards,
