I posted this question yesterday and got a semi helpfull answer, but for a beginner it was not much help. (the answer I got is at the bottom)
Ok I know very little about networking, have set up a 4 system peer-to-peer at home, now I want to take it a step farther to learn more.
I have an evaluation copy of 2003 form M$ and a few books on 2003 (2003 for dummies) I have done the install with no problems.
I get to the "Workgroup or Domain" I pick domain and type in "jonnie.com"
So this book I have dose not tell me how to connect client computers, I have a (laptop/win 2000) skinny, a (desktop XP home) inga, and (desktop 2000) sweetie.
I have no idea where to go from here.If someone could help me out with a little direction and some decent reading subject matter (somethig that will explain in some detail) I would be very thankfull.
Feel free to email me!("Looks like you do not have a Domain setup yet. You can install your Win2003 in a "Workgroup". When it is up and running, type in DCPROMO in the run and setup your domain.")

Ok, If you want to join a W2K either desktop or laptop
Steps:
1. In W2K Right Click My computer and click Properties
2. Go to the Network Identification tab
3. Click on Properties
4. Pick Domain
5. Type in jonnie.com which is your domain
6. Use the username of the Administrative Account which has access to join the domain. And the password.I'm telling you all this from the top of my head, If you have any difficulties, please email me.

Well just to let you people know, when you first set up a server (2003) the server Administrator must first log on to the client system (well this is the only why I could get the domain to kick in)then reboot and away we go! (until I can't figure out the next step, which will be very soon!)
