I have a USB HP CD-Writer 8230e External. and I plugged it in and Windows automatically found the drivers and installed them and everything but in Nero. It won't recognize my CD-Writer. And the 'IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service' is enabled and running in Services. I went to HP.com and looked for the drivers. But they don't have none for Windows 2003. So I tried Windows XP, but that's not working either. So I uninstalled the drivers and rebooted my computer, and Windows installed them automatically again and it's still now showing my burner in Nero. Only 'Image Recorder' and in Device Manager it says it's working fine. Anybody have any ideas?

I think this is just like XP. You can't run a third party burn software with the internal software enabled (Limp version of Roxio). Try uninstalling Nero; reboot and go in windows explorer, right click your burner, select properties, select Recording tab, and uncheck the box "Enable CD recording on this drive". Now reboot and install Nero. It will be the default recording software and work fine!
