Can you use a licence key (vlk) that came with server 2003 32bit to install the 64bit edition?

Nope. If you have the 64-bit version, then you should use the key that came with the OS when you purchased it.

If you bought the OS software, then you'd have the key.
You DO have a 64-bit server, right?

No, we only have the 32bit software and key. The server's able to run 64bit but we never bothered with it until the other day we got some major memory issues and deicded we needed more than 3GB of RAM in it.
I have the option of buying 64bit software from our authorised dealer but that was without any keys (with the keys its going to be exceptionally more expensive). I had my fingers crossed the OS wasn't too picky about 32bit/64bit versions as far as the keys went.
