I have a network with a Windows 2000 Active Directory Domain Controller. We have just purchased a Windows 2003 server to act as a
stand alone member server. After adding the Windows 2003 Server to the Windows 2000 Domain, I am unable to add Domain Users and Groups to shares and NTFS security on the
Windows 2003 Server. What is causing this and how can this be fixed? Same thing occurs when trying to share folders from a Widnows XP Pro workstation.

What occures when you try to share folders? you can't simply see them on the network or are you having trouble with something more dramatic?
If you elaborate your problem, I might be able to help you out. Feel free to send me an email and explain it in the email.Cheers!!

Hi, I am facing the same problem.
have joined a server to a Windows 2003 domain. Let's call it Server A. I
have shared one of the folders and have set the share permission to
Everyone - Read and Change. I tried to add domain users to the Security Tab.
However, when I tried to add, the From This Location option, it always shows
the local server, System A but not the domain server. When I enter the object names like domain\user, it says it is invalid. This
is very different when we are using Windows 2000 domain.Even the folder is shared, I cannot copy any files in even though I have set Everyone to Read and Change.
Thanks.
