I am having the exact same problem that some one else had this week but didnt see a solution on his post. I am needing to set a mapped drive to one of my severs but it says the path is not found. the server does exist in the active directory and its role is a "workstation or server". this server is not our PDC, it simply just houses(or is going to) a large application and database. It is a new addition to our system and my tech guy is out for the week.
I can RDP to it and see everyhting i need, but i just cant map a drive to it from my desktop.

It's a good thing it's not a PDC because that would mean you're running Windows NT 4.0 or older.
Can you ping it by it's hostname and/or IP address?
If you can ping it by it's IP and not by it's hostname it's likely you have a DNS problem with regard to the record for that server.
Have you tried mapping a drive with it's IP? ex: \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\share
If not, see if you can't map that way. That doesn't fix the problem, but you should be able to map to the share that way if you can ping it by IP address.
If not, post any error messages you get when attempting to map the drive.

If you can't ping then something is wrong with your network setup. Compare your TCP/IP settings on the server with other (working) server's in your domain. Ensure it's in the same subnet, has the same subnet mask and that there are appropriate DNS host records for the server.
Ensure the server was properly added to AD.
