Dear all,

Can anyone here help me to connect my server 2003 to the internet. After a fresh installation, I was be able to connect windows server 2003 to internet initially, but later, I don't know what I did, it couldn't connect to the intenet at all. Everytime when I type in www.google.com, the browser keep showing connecting to www.www.google.com.com which really frustrates me. Don't know hat is the cause of it. I am completely new to the windows server 2003. if any one could help, I would be very much grateful.

Robert

Try pinging google via command prompt. Also try to ping your default gateway, and the ISP's default gateway. Also ping the ISP's DNS to make sure there's no funny business there.

I'm venturing those tests will come out OK, but start there.

I have just pinged the google, it didn't go through, but I did find out it is due to the IP address conflict. How do I change my server's IP address?

Are you running DHCP/DNS on the server?
Did you set the server to a static IP address?
did you reserver the Server IP address in DHCP?
Are you using a router? Did you set the default gate to the router IP address?

Check My Network connections and see where you're getting your IP address from, either DHCP or set manually (static.
These will help determine your problem.

Also, try ipconfig /all at the command prompt. Very useful to see if your IP addresses are set correctly, and what your default gateway and DNS server addresses are.
