I am using windows 2003 server std edition i have seen my Dr watson log file increase up to 30 GB whenever my Hard disk partion total space is 20 GB,also i am using email software MDAEMON on it my email could not send because my drive C show 0 bytes free space.
can i delete Dr watson file or not.
is it usefull file..please solve my query.thanks

Yes, Dr Watson is a diagnostic tool to help identifying softwate malfunctions. You can also delete .dmp files, i.e. system dumps of memory, that may be a lot according the size of your log. However the log size points out your system suffers continuos software checks, that is not right. The cause should be identified to avoid a final fatal crash. To clean your system download and run the well known CCleaner, you may see an astounding gain in free space.
IVO is right, the Dr. Watson program is basically a program that diagnoses your machine for various issues. To put it simply though, if you have a tech on hand/someone who knows enough IT to do your basic troubleshooting and diagnosing, this program is not needed.
Even with the logs they create.. I have worked with MS for years and I have never seen them reference this program or its files.
